CONCRETE SIDEWALK PAVING & CONSTRUCTION

Concrete Sidewalk Paving & Construction

Concrete sidewalks are made of the same Portland cement concrete that comprise concrete parking lots. They are also designed in a similar fashion. The sub grade must be percolated, or tested for its ability to absorb moisture, and then a sub base, usually made of gravel, can be laid. Then a wood form is laid and the cement, mixed by our distributor, is poured into the form.

We tend to follow the National Association of City Transportation Officials' advice for sidewalk dimensions, which measure 5-7' in width in residential zones and 8-12' in urban and commercial areas. Building a safe and functional sidewalk is directly associated with allocating enough width for pedestrians to stay clear of cyclists and other unpredictable collisions.

Most sidewalks for businesses, municipalities, and cities are paved to a depth of 4", but Ohio Paving & Construction can pave to any desired depth. The sidewalk we lay is not reinforced with steel, as it generally Speak with one of our paving estimators for more details.

New Concrete Paving Pricing

The following prices apply to new concrete paving jobs 4" in depth.

  • 0-5,000 Square Foot Parking Lots: $9.50 Per Square Foot
  • 5,001-20,000 Square Foot Parking Lots: $9.00 Per Square Foot
  • 20,001-50,000 Square Foot Parking Lots: $8.50 Per Square Foot
  • 50,001-100,000 Square Foot Parking Lots: $7.50 Per Square Foot
  • 100,000+ Square Foot Parking Lots: $6.00 Per Square Foot

It is important to note that while these prices are accurate characterizations of the costs of new asphalt paving jobs, there are additional variable costs which are assessed in a case-by-case basis. Therefore, determining the price of laying new asphalt is not as simple as calculating the square footage of the area and multiplying with the associated figure listed above. Varying costs include:

  • The distance of the job site from our crew.
  • The state of the land and/or sub-base where the asphalt might be laid.
  • The amount of time/effort is necessary for cleaning.
